Does not matter what you post, what you say, the typical response is that shot always plays that way, that hole plays that way etc.....Most of us know that is total BS, there is not a hole on here I have not stuffed tight, including the 1 in the replay with that hole position and by playing it dead on the numbers as well. Yes there are a few holes holes that report the wrong yardage by 3 or so yards, but only a few over what the 10 courses. Certainly not every hole someone happens to post a replay for.
But I'm not here to bit-ch about that, or to support your being screwed therory, I'm here to help you and others get over it and move on.
The fact of the matter, if you had been on 1 birdie, then that shot as you say, leaves about a 20 footer out to the right. Had everything gone as planned. With a 4 head wind at about 7:30 it would need about a 232 yard shot, the 3 iron has the ability to blow over that green if the right spin was not applied, however I know that not always the right spin gets registered, just as not always the right club gets registered, as the same goes for not always the intended aim gets registered also. That IMHO is the VEM, or the programmed in mistake. Could be more or less wind also.
Plenty of things can and do go wrong, the game is not perfect.
I played a decent round in the golf now, and I thought things were going south for me as well, when I managed par on 11, 12, 13 and 14, after birdies 3 though 10 with and eagle on 2, no matter how much aim I applied to my putts they went straight at the hole like I never aimed a thing.
You need to realize as I have, that errors are part of this game, Some will not admit this fact, and will jump to quickly to always blame the user. But it is a fact, something likely went wrong, something always goes wrong especially when the screws get tighter. Some blame it on VEM and some other mysterious force, I have even been guilty of this as well, till I started to do some analytical thinking to this. Artificial intelligence has not been perfected yet, and certainly not in a rudimentary platform such as flash. So if you were to program the game, and you wanted it to be less then perfect, what would you do, you would likely do as I would do, and program in the mistakes.
So with that in mind, what do you do, well IMHO You just need to slow down, and what I found to work for me lately is just slow down, and slow down a lot and double do everything. Double up on club selection, and spin setting and aim. Do these two or three times in multiple views. Even then the errors still occur, but it can help limit how many holes the errors occur for. Try to make sure the server knows your club, and your spin for sure, it may say one thing, but that is no guarantee. i.e, i will set my club both with the mouse wheel and clicking on the club, I will set my aim in reverse view and touch it again in forward view, or vice versa, and sometimes even use the mini map as a third, and I will move the spin slowly and methodically after zooming in on the ball.
Hope this helps other mere mortals, because not everyone gets the perfect round all the time, even if played perfectly, the game has been programmed to do just that, but if you slow down, you can save a good one "maybe". Sometimes nothing works, but if you slow down, things just might start clicking again.
