This idea was to try and get  more interest in our majors.

I devided the number  that were left after the 2nd round cut in The Open by the number that entered the clubs major, the Fair Play British Open.  The groupings were computer generated.

The lucky member who draws the winner The Open, gets 500 equipment credits worth.

That would work with any tournament on the pro tour, but we do it in our majors only,  which coincide with the PGA tour majors.

Something different and new to make the club tournaments a bit more interesting.

Our club has been running a take on a "Pro-Am"  for the majors

Anyone who wanted to take part played one single round to show intent. Then they got to choose their pro on a "First come to post" basis after a particular time for posts to open was set.

Then when the comp starts, each pro's first two rounds, and the players first two rounds are totaled together. (With handicap for tier as necessary - 2 shots per tier).

We got around 40odd takers in the last event and there were prizes as seemed fitting to the winner.

    Something different .....
