Can the powers that be explain why is it when drawing the putter back in the process of putting the grid line speed quickens considerably~~~ most off putting LOL.

Who should explain "why?" - not us players certainly!
I know this behaviour - happens often enough.
When putting grid is "on" in the game options, frequently it will accelerate when I pull the meter back. And, this appears like the correct slope indication. Thus I decide on my (off-ding) aim only during the swing. If I'd take the minor "idle" movement from before, I'd play the ball considerably low.
