    Hogwired:

I have another question -- Does a 282yd driver make considerably more than a 4yd improvement over my 278yd driver?

Since no one addressed this question, I'll take a stab at it. Yes, using the level 83 Callaway xhot driver which I currently use as an example, it averages about 300 yd/drive for me. It has a high trajectory as opposed to the med/high trajectory your current driver has. The high trajectory is useful for driving over trees, cutting doglegs and it lands a little bit softer.  I found that the lower trajectory drivers would fall short if I tried to drive uphill in some situations and they were harder to stop on drive-able greens. The extra yards, high trajectory and the slight increase in precision the Xhot, SLDR and other drivers in that range have does make a noticeable difference IMHO.

As far as the hybrid/3 wedges debate goes, I stand with the others on the 3 wedge side.

The white SLDR is the driver you need. I think it's limited edition so I'd get it soon.

Unfortunately man, you reached legend tier a tad too early

start playin a few alt shot games & enjoy the game whilst still learning,

Before you know it you will be up around level 90 and have plenty of options; re clubs.

    Hav Fun & Enjoy

And drop that hybrid as stated earlier in the thread - it really is just wasting good oxygenn and only costing shots in return.  Punch out of any rough with the 3 wood.

Then learn those wedges as stated elsewhere.  You can chip from just off the green in a good lie to about 7 - 8ards.  Pitching you can do from 7 yards up to about 26 yards easily, and punching easily 19 yards through to 53 yards (talking just the CG64 those punches).  A punched CG64 hit at say 60% (yes 60) power and FBS will go 22 yards.............That 100 yard is also important with the two you already have.

I bought the R1 the very second i hit level 48, and it stayed in my bag until I bought the SLDR at level 89.  Its a great club and I'd recommend it to anyone.  And I would also recommend telling the hybrid wood to bugger off and get a 56° wedge (assuming you already have a 64° and 60°, but I am too lazy to check).

    ^It was a 56W and a 64W, they needed a 60W.

    Appreciate the input, all.

My 56-degree wedge goes 100yds, so I don't really see the benefit from an 80yd wedge... please feel free to enlighten me, though.

You will have more control on 65yd-82yrd shots.  Once you start using less than 75% percent power on a wedge, then you increase roll out and decrease control. You're not using the wedge to its full spin and control potential.  Hit a full swing 80yd wedge 75yds is going to have waaay more control than one hit with 100yd wedge.  If all the holes you play have a lot of green before the hole, then roll out doesnt matter, holes that have no green before the hole or hilly green befoe the green, need a more precise shot.
