ApexPC:
The Pitch/Chip/Flop mode grid only displays in yards, not feet. Hence it cannot be used as precisely as the regular putting grid that displays in feet.
From the center of the grid to an edge indicates 4 yards, making the grid a 8 yard x 8 yard grid. My experience still shows that assuming the grid is 20 feet x 20 feet yields the most accurate and consistent results.
I have indeed edited my tip to add clarity,
The chip grid only displays in yards now? Where do you get this stuff?
Let's measure it!
Off I went to Merion # 13 where the pin is almost centered in the green. Single play from the red tee I switched to chip mode, zoomed in and then screen shotted the green showing the grid....

Then I hit a PW to the right side of the green, putted a few times trying my best to put the ball as close to pin high and as close to the edge of the fringe as possible. I swung the putter but let the swing go on through and I took this screen shot....

30 feet to the pin as I would expect from the top image.
The grid shows in feet, not yards. Its 28 feet, not 20 or 24.
Stating half the grid is 5 yds or the whole grid is 10 yds is probably close enough.
