Thank you, bud!
It was me, and it's still a very memorable day, after one year!
I WANT A REPLAY!
Went to Carnoustie for a week of golf in May 2013, played their three courses with pleasure with a prelude at Montrose, then - on Saturday - drove to St.Andrews to play the Himalayas - no hope for the Big Ones... It turned out that New Course was free to play, met a friendly locals' threesome and played it bar of any pre-booking - priceless! After a decent lunch in the public clubhouse I took 27 holes on the Ladies' Putting Course - pleasant and worth each Penny - including a HIO on a severly downsloping nightmarish hole!
After that, I had a look at Ladybank (1879) and Scotscraig (1817), before returning home.
Sunday brought a round-trip through Angus and the Cairngorms, passing Brechin*, Edzel*, Aboyne*, Ballater* and Braemar* (*=golf courses) + those of Glenisla* and Alyth*, only to be topped by Glen of Isla, then to settle for Kirriemuir GC (lunch and a decent round on a James Braid course).
Finally I learned about Sunday Roast - a "yummy" dish at Corner Hotel.
