The new trick, if you are losing a match, is to simply wait until your opponent is putting for the win (instead of conceding, when it is obvious you cannot win) and disconnect. This will freeze the game for your opponent and send it into the beloved "unexpected game error mode", when your opponent closes and returns, they will have lost the match, because they haven't returned to the game in time!  I don't know how many thousands of times players have to send bug reports and documentation that this disconnect problem exist, before WGT will fix it. It is becomming apparent that they are either unwilling or unable to fix the problem. It has been persisting for over a month now!

Is the only power we have as players, to organize a boycott of the site. And when no one logs on and no one sees their adds and they cannot show their advertisers that the adds are getting viewed (as I am sure they are under contract to do) that they will then make a good faith effort to fix the problem? This is a drastic measure, but one I'm sure would have a profound affect on WGT and their status quo.

I'm not sure an all out boycott is necessary(not to mention most of us are way too addicted to completely quit :) ),  Why not just do the sensible thing and not play multiplayer for credits until it gets sorted out?  That's what I've done since these issues became extremely common, and I'm sure I'm not alone in doing so...

Because, not playing what WGT offers for games, is just a way of supporting them not fixing the problem. If everyone stops playing multiplayer games for credits, there will not be any incintive for WGT to fix the problem, because no players will complain. I appreciate your advise, but feel the threat of a player revolt has the potential of having more impact on WGT to just continue "as is". I for one cannot believe, with all the documentation, that has occured around this problem, that WGT cannot fix the problem, if they were motivated to do so. The only way to truely motivate a for profit business, is to affect their bottom line.

I just can't see it happening though, how would you go about it? The forums are probably read by 5% of all members, and even if something were organized maybe 25% at best would take part.  Is a 1.25% reduction in play even going to show up on WGT's radar?

If this is anything to go by we are talking ONE PERCENT of people will read a forum.  Pragmatically organising anything like that is doomed to not leave the drawing board.

I support voicing the issues though.

Just maybe WGT sometimes may get a little worried that some one may go after them, as that has happened before to way bigger companies.  The fines that went along with it were tough even for those very large organisations.

I only say that as hopefully something may force WGT to action, but......................

If you are looking for a matchplay challenge, better to suggest the option of playing the match as standard matchplay with a sleeve or two of balls at stake before you tee off. WGT would not be getting their 20% rake from the challenge, which is better for the players. This would hurt their bottom line more than a boycott that would be impossible to organise. And if the opponent turns out to be a disconnecting cheat then at least you won't have lost any credits, and you know for next time who is a gentleman/woman or otherwise.

Good sugestion, but won't buying and gifting all those balls fill their coffers?

Absolutely. Don't play the multiplayer games for credits until WGT gets it fixed.

Not only that , but why should players have to stop playing  , because you cant feed your gambling habit . I dont play M/P , or A/S , nor do I play for credits . So since this problem doesnt affect me , why should I stop playing ?

Since WGT gets a kickback off of these two forms of play , simply stop playing them . Theres your boycott . Send that message to every country club , and post here in the forums , as well . So you dont have to stop playing the game entirely , just stop playing the game in those forms of game play . Have a nice day :-)
