What bothers me worse than anything is the sandbaggers.. You go through the leaderboards of the past RG's and you see the same names on top. You think to yourself, eventually these guys are going to tier up but, nope.. not when they only have 30 ranked rounds played.. Drives me up the wall.. You'd think someone at WGT would be smart enough to catch something as easily identifiable as that. That's ok though, I didn't wanna play anyway..   :(

The problem, well one on the never ending friggin list - Is that the entire game is free.

There is absolutely zero incentive for sandbaggers and cheaters to, well, not. If you're that inclined then there's nothing stopping you here.

What might work in someway, maybe, is if there were a paid membership club.

Restricted to L100+ Tour Legends. You pay like say 500 credits per month. Those credits paid are used for purses. WGT would take something sure, so say like 80% goes to purses.

Tourney's and any game format is approved by the members, no more shitty RG's forced on players.

Players who are in the 'Club' can no longer play in the public tourney's or RG's or in anyway compete against the lowly regs. With the exception of the Virtual Tours of course. Hell that's easy enough to enforce, you simply would not be allowed to join off-limit matches.

AS and skins etc are still open, the restriction is on the public RG's and anything else WGT runs or will run. The public format games. I'm sure there's *** that I missed but you get the idea.

And for god sake at that level and with there being developed a community of 'Club' members - Take the deviation out of play. Golf clubs and balls don't have it in real life. And apply a neutral VEM profile to the status of 'club formatted level.'

Cheating programs  , I have a hard time believing in it , but I do know from long ago that some players have more then one account  and they used it to fool us and make some $$$$$.         But in my experience  if you are a honest player ,and you play this game to have fun ,  well first thing you know the players inviting you will have similar profile and attitude ,    The one not so honest will end up on their own ,  They are only fooling themselves ........

I hear you dB, that's a solid plan.. Except, it's really hard to find an honest way to stop a dishonest person from cheating. It's kinda like the old saying, and it's true, a lock on a door is only gonna keep an honest person out..

I don't worry about it that much, it's just that as a competitor, you'd like to play in RG's and big credit tournaments to see how you stack up against others at your own experience level. Clearly, that'll never be possible here. That's why I joined a CC, so I could have some honest competition.. and I'm good with it.

    Wontonamo:

almost the end of the line for me here - hard to see this happen everyday and nothing done about it.

    Say it ain't so : (

It's always sad to see one of the big names leave the game because of some low life scumbags screwing the system.

I was referring to the format that a lot of people here seem to complain about.

I don't play them so personally doesn't affect me, but general consensus a lot of the time seems to be that WGT doesn't take suggestions and 'forces' players who want to play, to play what is loaded up.

But when I looked at their score history I usually see something like that they had just been playing Pebble Beach blitz 158 times in a row for the last couple of weeks.

I see match play guys do the same thing - they will have about 20 rounds in a row at a course match play. I tell you, I would like to get in to their head and see how they keep their sanity playing the same course 20-30 times in a row.

That's nothing. I have a decent sized DNP list for match - 10% because of sportsmanship, 90% for cherry-picking. There's one "sticky" legend who does nothing but match front 9 Oakmont...thousands of times. Many others will play nothing but one course endlessly.

It goes to show that even the dumbest rat can run one maze well.
