The question is: will the added few yards (in general less than 5 - 10 yds, or so, for irons) be worth the added cost?
Will you wince when a 98% fresh RZN at 2.50/ball goes'kerplunk!' into the pond by CCC#5 green, when u were gunning for makeable eagle on the short pin? That supposed extra yardage worth it?
The trend I'm seeing amongst TL/Legends I play with is: initial trial, commit to a few sleeves more ... and then ease on back to a 'best performance/cost' ball that works well with their equipment set.
For me, right now, it's Nike level 81 balls. But I see a range of Nikes, Callies, and even WGT balls.
On the other hand, if you compete in RGs and other 'money' games, and the slight improvements magically produce some winnings to offset that added 'cost per stroke' ... well, go for it!
