I've recently started playing and I'm at Level 30. I feel I need to improve my equipment, especially my putter but don't know where to start. So I'd like to ask the pros how can I improve my game the most, equipment wise, within my budget.

I would suggest that you wait a while longer . You want your upgrades to last as long as possible . The better gear with clubs , starts around level 40 for wedges , and varies along the way . Right now just be content on learning the game , and the courses .

Take your time and work on course management and ball placement . The sales reps will tell you to go buy the most expensive clubs in the game . Right now you dont need to do that . Once you move back to the Master & Tour Master tees , then will be the time for the real serious upgrades .

If you feel that you need a good putter then by all means get one . A good putter will have a good amount of balance , precision , and forgiveness . You will also want to take meter speed into account as well . The slower the better when it comes to putting  Also when putting do you move the marker and play the ding , or do you miss the ding when putting ? For missing the ding you want a lot of forgiveness , and for playing the ding , a lot of precision .

When you start to upgrade your wedges , you will want to start with your pitching wedge and work backward . Space your wedges out 15 - 20 yards apart . When picking your clubs , try to keep your meter speeds as close as possible . A consistent meter makes for a smoother meter and its easier to hit the ding as well .

When choosing balls , you will also have to take spin into consideration . If your clubs have a lot of spin , you can get a ball with less spin . This to will also depend on the courses that you play on as well . But for the most part , it is best to get 1 ball and stick with it . That way you learn your clubs and distances , and you will know exactly what you can and can not do .

So here you go , some insight to help you with your game . Sorry , as I wasnt trying to write you a book .Other players will help you as well , and they too will touch on what Ive either said or didnt say . But as you can see , there is a lot too learn . Hope this helps and good luck with your game . Oh and use the search box >.>>>> and you will find many of your questions have already been answered . Take care and good luck with your game . :-)

You are correct putter is first purchase, my first upgrade was the ghost spider it should be around your level. Then sell your hybrid and purchase 3 evenly spaced wedges, e.g. 60-75-90 yards. Also upgrade balls they make a big difference calloways seem pretty popular and are way more accurate than the starters you currently use. Hope this helps and good luck to ya.

Agree right off the bat.  Save your credits.  The first 70 levels go like lightning, so any club upgrade would be much more temporary than you want.  Probably the first significant upgrade is the R1 in the early 40s.  The distance is game-breaking for its level.

Thanks for the advice guys, really helpful. I didn't think about waiting until a higher level so that's makes perfect sense. I might buy an entry level putter for now but continue to hit away until better equipment becomes available.

I have yet to buy the credits, do they ever go on sale?

There was a special recently for first timers who purchased credits , I think it gives you 500 extra credits on your first time purchase . Just take your time , and do the videos and surveys for free credits as well . You can also do some of the other offers for credits too . Like magazine subscriptions , buy flowers for the ladies in your life and so forth .Just check it all out , while waiting to level up .

Sound advice above. When you come back looking for help, there are a couple of things we'll need to know.

    1. How important is a slow meter for your style of play/capabilities. For me, it was very important due to not so great eyesight. Others have no problems with the faster metered equipment.

    2. Which putting style do you use? I believe most use the style WGT envisioned when the game was introduced, which is moving the aimer some distance from the hole to allow for break, and hit the ding. Some insist that intentionally missing the ding either side of the ding line is more accurate.

    Good luck in your quest.

As far as putters go , I would suggest that at L 33 you get the Versa putter . Not much difference than the L70 putter . It could take you to Legend tier and maybe even Tour Legend . The L70 is a good putter , and I have no need for another . Food for thought . :-)

one more comment,  taking time to decide is a good idea. I would suggest 1 thing I did when it came to golf balls the 10 credit  WGT brand don't seem like much of an improvement but for practice they are a lot better for playing with then the basic starter ball and on blitzes they dont hurt when u get a water ball  Also wait till the next free rental weekend and try out any upgrade your level permits then u can make a much better informed decisoion
