Just spent 100 credits to play in a tournament at Merion. After one hole (which I parred), the screen showed a couple of ads, but otherwise it was totally black. I clicked on the background, got an error message asking if I wanted to close the window. Of course when I closed the window, it said I was no longer eligible for the tournament!

Would be nice to either get my credits back, or get back into the tournament.

IMHO, this is no "of course" but a valid sign of a severe fault.

Usually, if the game window is closed ("x") during a ranked (incl. tournament) round, it's the same as "save game". Pressing "Play Now", the player will be asked to continue or drop the game.

In your case, you were treated like quitting which I deem not normal. Best of luck with CS (see Shoe's link)!

I'd avoid games with entry fees until you get better clubs and get more practice. It's entirely up to you what you spend money on but the odds are against you winning.
