I just played the Merion front nine ready go and on two holes #6 and #8 I pulled the pin like I always do,on both approach shots I hit an invisible flag stick that wasn't suppose to be there,,,WTF is that WGT?????,,it cost me two strokes as I par'ed 6 because the ball only ended up a few feet from the hole but bogeyed 8 because the ball rebounded about 20ft in to the rough, not a happy camper as both approaches should have resulted in birds, when the flag stick is pulled it should not  still be there to interfere  with a good shot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WGTicon,,you say it happens......did it happen to you while the pin was pulled?...that's the gist of why I posted this, pulling the pin one would expect it to be impossible to still hit the flag stick and ruin a nice approach shot that should be a bird or eagle instead of a scramble to make par.....................................................

probably a dumb question but are you pulling the flag before the stroke ??

only ask because if do it after its still there although shows it as pulled .
