    Easy peasy

    You're Hired!

Left to the programmers unless it is a heart or bubble vapour trail it is probably beyond their capabilities.

Also you have made my day - ‘The One Ball Rule’ is generally adopted only in events that are limited to professional golfers or highly-skilled amateur golfers. My game of late is far from highly skilled, in fact a downward spiral to oblivion.

As for the hypocrisy of allowing someone to finish a round using a starters ball, I agree and also concur with Michael re disqualifying, but WGT will not go to that extreme to annoy their customers.

We are given a warning, if you take the risk and get burned, do not expect sympathy from this corner.

I always wondered why, since you can buy balls in the pro shop at any time during a round, WGT doesn't allow us to buy balls when we lose our last ball of a type?

They chose to give us a warning message "This is your last ball...." AND the chance to buy balls on the first tee.  Why not the same chance to buy balls after you lose your last ball?

Nooo, they choose to stick us with a starter ball!  It would look something like this...

(right click on the pic above and select View Image to see full size)

Should be an easy change since if they adhered to Object Oriented principles using AS3 there would be a single function that handles all cases when a player loses the last premium ball in their bag.  Whether single play, match play, AS, CTTH, Blitz, etc....

If I don't want to buy balls, I can choose to quit.  At least it's OUR choice.

Nice idea to have Icon pop up ;)

Nevertheless, have to disagree this time. "buy balls or quit" includes the fishy smell of blackmail. A better choice is present now: Ignore "buy balls" on your own risk, and decide to quit when it's gone.

    Your proposal doesn't change much:

    - Q comes one ball later,

    - serious player needs his ball type anyway for a successful finish.

    Negative effect:

    - slight negative revenue influence because players may safely bang on their last ball.

Hey the game is money oriented; if they can get you to spend a ton before the game to be ready or have to play with the poor ball so be it.

WGT gives the opportunity to buy more balls when we start to use the last one, both at the beginning of a round and during a game.

At any rate, by your logic WGT would also make more money if they allowed us to spend more on balls when our last ball is lost OB, wet, in weeds, brush, etc.

A simple solution is to always start a round with a sufficient inventory of balls such that it is highly unlikely you would run out of that make/model of ball.

I strive to have no fewer than 2 sleeves of my preferred ball in my inventory when I start an 18 hole round, even though I have not 'lost' more than 2 balls in 18 holes for many, many months and rarely lose 1 ball, let alone 2.

(If this is the case, then WGT should afford the player time to "buy" more balls after losing one. Correct?)

They do! As soon as your last ball is put in play you get the last ball warning and a chance to buy a new sleeve right from the game window. Unless you not planning to use that particular type of ball again or can't afford to but a sleeve there should be no reason to run out of balls during a round!

More times than not when I have gone through my last ball and the prompt comes up to purchase more of the same, I get an error message from WGT and end up having to finish the round (or quit as Andy suggests) with a starter ball. This is quite irritating.

Another irritant is that I have several of the same type of premium balls, some slightly used, others not, as singles in my bag. When the last ball message pops up, why can I not choose a ball from my bag, rather than be saddled with a starter?
