I'm not so quick to condemn Micheal. He's not alone. Countless others are still not yet aware of how greatly this type of 'insensitivity' (I still won't dignify it as wit) works to set them so deeply apart from the crowd.
Can't say I was offended. I'm simply awestruck that there can be this shortsightedness on the day which the rest of the connected world is 'celebrating' womanhood's massive potential. I don't know why this should irk me... I am a daughter of South Africa after all.
I'm equally surprised that there is never more women's voices in a rare thread like this one, whenever it does appear in a 'community' forum that women & men share.
Madeleine Albright is often quoted; "There is a special place in hell for women who don't help other women." (sigh...)
I understand totally though... culture doesn't change because I or anyone else wishes it so... herein lies the need for a wider education.
