Maybe its because WGT uses a different model of mathematics to the rest of us. This seems true to many aspects of the game, eg
Distance to hole - some short some long
Wind effect very - variable
Calculating averages - but not including highest scores, or necessarily recent scores
Green speeds - especially sideways gradients
I think maybe they are using a combination of fractals/chaos theory and trigonometry which i like to think of as Frachtry. With the Frachtry model of maths there are no such things as errors or mistakes, there are only anomolies, and these aren't really anomolies at all but rather a simulation of real life where for instance a slight twitch in a golfers latissimus dorsi muscle can cause a ball to fly at any random distance or direction.
Much the same as a unified field theory in physics could explain all the secrets of the universe so could the Fractry model explain the vast variations in the world of WGT.
I believe it is high time that our top universities started to do further research into Frachtry as it applications could be endless. It could explain many of the unexplainable mysteries of modern life such as
A download says it will take 40 seconds but really takes 2 minutes ( and says 5 seconds remaining for the last minute)
Why it takes on average 2.4 attempts to solve a CAPTCHAs - so as to prove ur not a robot,
How Google can give you "About 8,120,000 results (in 0.24 seconds)" when u enter Wgt in the search box ( and 1.3 billion in 0.41 seconds if you enter golf - really who has the time to check out 1.3 billion results !!) - and yet it took a whopping 0.39 seconds to find only 7 results when searching for "Frachtry" (or 49 if you go for the omitted results ( they didn't omit any results when searching for golf.
Gotta go now because this is very quickly becoming the most boring and pointless post that (I have) anyone has ever written
