  When I hit the with full back spin and it lands 2-3 feet from the hole, the ball just rolls off the green into the fringe.

  Why oh why,..???!!!???

   

  What am I doing wrong?!?

  In a nutshell....Starter Equipment.

  You will not get much in the way of backspin with starter equipment or starter balls.  Until you get more experience under your belt, best advise is to learn how to run the ball up to the hole.  Other choices are to buy better balls/equipment to be able to use backspin.  Better balls will get you some spin with the starters, but nothing like you are probably expecting now.

  Exactly. WGT has GIVEN us a fine game and with practice and some judicious upgrading you will be able to consistently break 80 but unless you have near professional gaming capability you will need to spend $50 to $100 to shoot par or better. Remember we are playing on WGT.com not .org. The owners are trying to give us a challenging game and make some money.
