Would it be possible to make it so we can play the balls we want after we have lost or used-up one ball type .........or a slot we can mix balls in?? 1st idea is better.

    HI MaxxxOut,

The reason we do not let players swap out balls mid game is to keep it true to the game. In golf you need to play with the same ball you started with, the only reason we have it automatically go to the WGT starter ball is so that you can finish the round instead of having to quit mid round. We have implemented a feature where you can purchase more of the same kind of ball if you are running out mid game instead of going to the starter ball. Hope this info helps.

This is the most asked question on here. Best just to carry more balls. It costs no more in the long run.

I think some players become frustrated with the single free giveaway balls that have the same attributes, but a different logo.  By rule they are considered different.  It makes it hard to use them for anything but practice rounds, or perhaps CTTH.

    HI MaxxxOut,

. . . The reason we do not let players swap out balls mid game is to keep it true to the game. In golf you need to play with the same ball you started with . . .

The rules of golf do not require using the same make/model of ball for an entire round. Or even for an entire hole if the players ball is damaged and unfit for play, lost, or out of bounds.

The USGA rule book - Appendix I, Local Rules; Conditions of the Competition, Part C, 1., c - has provisions that allow a tournament committee to invoke a local Condition of the Competition known as the "One Ball" Condition, requiring tournament players to use the same make/model of ball for an entire round if the tournament committee elects to invoke the condition.

WGT is in effect the 'tournament committee' and has elected to invoke the "One Ball" Condition for all golf on WGT.

Players that maintain an official USGA sanctioned handicap that do not play in tournaments are not required by the rules of golf to play the same make/model of ball for an entire round.

Casual golfers that do not maintain an official handicap are usually not very familiar with golf's official rules. Indeed, many serious and avid golfers that do maintain a handicap are also not very familiar with golf's official rules.

Rule 5-3: Ball unfit for play - allows a player to replace a damaged ball and play a substitute ball, but does not require the substitute ball be the same make/model of ball.

Under Definitions, 15-1: General says "A player must hole out with the ball played from the teeing ground, unless the ball is lost or out of bounds or the player substitutes another ball . . . "  Again, not requiring the same make/model of ball be used to replace a lost, OOB, or damaged ball.

    Did they? Where?

In effect, they allow only one type of ball in the bag (which is not part of the One Ball Condition), and don't allow players to visit the inventory during the game. Thus players have no choice during a game.

Chad's comment on the subject during the video chat was very enlightening, speaking of choice and NOT citing any One Ball reglement...

Add "everyday" amateur tournaments which never have a One Ball Condition, at least over here.

Chris, this is from page 138 of the USGA Rules of Golf, Appendix 1, Section C:

"(i) “One Ball” Condition During a stipulated round, the balls a player plays must be of the same brand and model as detailed by a single entry on the current List of Conforming Golf Balls."

The USGA does put a separate entry for each color on the list so no change of color is allowed by the rules when the tournament committee invokes the One Ball Condition.

My complaint has been that there is no basis in the Rules for the draconian "across the board" manner it is applied here. There certainly is no justification in the Rules for the One Ball Condition to be enforced in practice. USGA Q&A also specifically address that the Condition is generally not adopted in low level competitions.WGT should not be the self appointed tournament committee for country club tournaments. If they want to enforce it in WGT sponsored tournaments and individual competitions that are not within a country club, that's perfectly fine and allowed by the Rules.

alosso, you're right that Chad didn't refer to the Rules of Golf during the video chat. Unfortunately, multiple moderators have gone on record citing the Rules as justification. Someone should talk to Chad and

    A. Admit it is just something they programmed intentionally and wasn't based on the Rules of Golf, or

    B. Admit they intended to conform to the Rules of Golf and missed the mark.

This is WGT, though, and they would rather lie to customers and treat customers like dirt than admit to or apologize for anything.
