Re: Why do CC members NOT use the Free WGT Pass

  I think I hurt my brain trying to think why some of our CC members don't use the "FREE" pass WGT gives us twice a day. Before EVERY game, Country Club Tournament, WGT Tournament, CTTH, Match Play…etc, a screen comes up and you HAVE TO ACTUALLY CHECK OFF “NO”, SO THAT YOU DO NOT USE THE FREE PASS!

  The message ALWAYS comes up. Why would you check NO? 

  
  

  Answers: (not very good ones, I admit)

  1. You don’t know what it means. I can see this happening if you just started and were not a member of a Country Club and the screen wasn’t available. Now you’re a member of the PCCC and you play a game and this new screen pops up.
  2. You are too new at the game. At what point is a new WGT member given enough information so that they know there is a “Home Page”? Do they even know they have a wall people write on to communicate with them? Do they know what a “friend” is?
  3. You don’t know how to get your email from a “friend” This happened to me a long time ago when I sent an email to a new “friend”, and he didn’t answer it for months. He didn’t even know it existed when he started.
  4. You joined the club to take advantage of the free putter pal and shot pal. This could be a reason, but it doesn’t make the CC member a very nice person. After all, they had to ask to join the CC. 

  Anyone have any other reasons they can think of? Or even better, can anyone think of something the directors of a CC can do to help members use the pass?

  Because they don't give two hoots / have no connection to the CC....???

  Their fault / yours ???

  Get rid of the dead wood at minimum !!

  Probably a mixture of the reasons you have mentioned.

  I would also add apathy, as this CC XP and passes are so poorly thought out (could have been a great idea but as usual WGT only had tunnel vision = $$$$).

  Perhaps some refuse to use them on principle due to this as they may have been bitten by buying passes without a confirmation button.

  But each CC should make their rules known - if using a CC pass regularly is one of the rules and they fail to do so, just show them the door.

  BUT at level 8, there is really nothing in the wind that will benefit your club so personally I would not bother about it.

  That said, I use my one FREE pass that is available when I play per day, not that I really see the point. If I lose it due to a crash, no big deal. But it is there so I use it. I now refuse to buy a pass as there is no benefit to the club, the members and only benefits WGT's coffers.

  I would however love to hear views what additional and tangible benefits these bring.

  Also possible they click on "yes", the WD from the round and lose the pass

  Very true in that it is not a big deal, but believe it or not you still get some points. I ran a 2 screen test to see what would happen and after every shot the points went up by 1 as well. So if you crash after 15 shots, you got 15 points. Of course, the bonus points of 200, 400 and CC points cannot be awarded.

  Courteney has her people at level 18, I hope she can let us know any secrets she uses.

  It was reported here that some CC members didn't get any free passes. CS had to enable it, on request.

  If this situation still exists now, then someone who doesn't know this will not have a chance to use it.

  And some of us aren't able to play enough to get but 1 pass a day.

  Not sure Courteney will see this so I can answer that The Peoples Club has no requirement nor does Courteney try to get members to use their free pass. It is all up to the individual member to make the decision to click yes or no.
