Soulcatcher: Play all courses, refine your game and you will move up when you are ready. Fudging the numbers, so to speak, only leads to unhappiness.
Not to single you out Soulcatcher as others have stated the same mantra many times before.
It is just time for me to add my two cents.
I am always wary of a one size fits all solution whenever people are involved. People are like snowflakes, no two are exactly the same. What makes one person happy is bound to make some other person unhappy.
I am not a psychologist but I am familiar with the generally accepted four main Personality Types: Driver, Expressive, Amiable, Analytical
(Its easier for me to understand in terms of the Peanuts cartoon: Lucy, Snoopy, Charlie Brown, Linus)
I can only speak for myself, (a Type A, compulsive, analytical, Linus), I would not be happy following the above mantra. I would think it a waste of time hitting 7 and 6 irons into BP #10 for months from the white tees when I know I will need to learn to hit long irons or hybrid from the blue and black tees since I'd have a goal of being Tour Master or Legend as soon as possible.
If someone has a need to have Legend next to their name, no matter how bad a player they will be at Legend, I say let 'em cherry pick their courses if it makes them happy.
