Why is everybody in a rush to get to the highers tiers, by any means possibile somuch so that there are competitions being made in CC off easy conditions, light winds and red tees jsut so players can bring they avg down by shooting 30 in these ranked touraments, to get a false tier level when there only shooting 33-34 in there normal ranked games,

just wanted to no whats the benefit of getting to the higher tier before your game is really ready???

For that reason alone, I'm not so sure CC tournaments can carry the same weight as regular rated rounds and tournaments.  I'd be disappointed if the WGT algorithm did not factor that in, and if averages and advancement were determined without that in mind.

I have recieved a message that i shouldnt be encouraging "sandbagging" as they called it where you cheat the system to win touraments off the wrong tier

I would just like to clear this up, i certainly not backing or supporting the idea of playing in the wrong tier at all and if people are shooting the sort of scores that are required to win touraments (-5 or -10) off there correct conditions and tee lenghts then they certianly should be promoted throught the tiers

For Example jst look at the Legend Tier you have players that Avg 57-75 thats a 18 shot difference and would suggest that some of these Legends players shouldn't be in the Legend tier and im sure it is the same with all the tiers,

personally i feel there should be a way where you get demoted to the tier below (max of 1 tier) if you find your avg sat above the 72 (par score) but then at the same time because for example so of the legends that are promoted certainly shouldnt be, they have cheated the system

All CC tournaments are ranked rounds and tee off from the default tee for your tier.

In other words, you cannot select tee boxes when setting up a CC tournament.

Wind, green speed, and hole location group can be set.

if thats the case as a new guy looking into this game and how it works surely these touraments shouldnt be "ranked" as easy pins & low winds & fast greens are eeasier than heavy winds, hard pins & tourament greens

Do have a question ... have been at Pro for some time and average is below 74 ... how do you get to Tour Pro status????

We don't know how the WGT algorithm works.  And because CC tournament conditions are set by the creator, those completions couldn't possibly carry the same weight as regular rated rounds.  If it did, and after reading this thread, WGT were to tweek a few things, we'd never know anyway.  And moving up, even if its artificial, only makes the game harder...that is not sandbagging.

Legends with higher averages, or can't compete, might wish they were in a lower tier but how does that hurt anyone...especially under the new scoring average calculations...a few good rounds and that higher average is gone...making it much harder to sandbag.

I am pushing to get to Tour Master, and I will be more than happy with that.

I don't have the game or consistency to have fun at Legend status.

I have been a master for a long time, so fancy a challenge.

The rush to move up has always been here.

People play the easiest courses and the easy nine on those to advance.

All this accomplishes is players out of their depth.

Play all courses, refine your game and you will move up when you are ready. Fudging the numbers, so to speak, only leads to unhappiness.

    Happy hitting
