The owner of our CC (Stay Cool) appears to have passed away a few years ago. I was wondering if someone could give us some help on reassigning a new owner. We have a few members that would like this to happen.

It might be easier and certainly quicker to just message your remaining active members and ask them to join a new club with you. It took WGT ages to sort out a new owner for another club recently.

I am surprised that you would say that as WGT's reply in the past was "sorry we cannot help you."

Take for example, The Yorkshire County Golf Club where the WGT reply was there was nothing WGT could do - so one member started The Yorkshire County GC and brought many of the members of the old CC with him (slowly).

There was another CC before that - the name escapes me - but there too the answer was "there is nothing WGT can do"

We also have read that the same reply was made to the forerunner of The Real Masters and Disasters.

Recently, Senior Citizens had the same problem and when WGT answered that there was nothing WGT could do. That CC split into those who stayed and another rather successful CC Senior Moments.  In that case the owner of Senior Citizens did come back to just turn over the ownership and the new owner is slowly rebuilding the CC.

So my question is this:  Has the WGT policy changed or are you just raising false hopes that WGT may do something?

    EE

I personally can't help either way, but I chose not to say that in a thread where someone had died. I don't believe there is much we can do though.

Sorry to hear that you're having problems; I can't offer any direct help, but if you decide to create a new CC, this should prevent it happening again in the future.

Our CC - UK Golfers Elite - is run by a group of 5. We created a separate, non playing entity,  and transferred ownership to them. We all have the password, so any one of us can log in as "owner" and do whatever needs doing.

It's not the most elegant solution, but it does work well, and until WGT gives us genuine shared ownership, it's about as good as you're going to get I think.

    Steve.

ps. we were promised Co-Ownership almost a year ago, but still nothing... any update re this Shoe/Icon/Anyone?
