  I've invited a person into my cc to see that that are listed as pending, but don't know how long they will stay pending or if there is any action for me to take

  It's the player's turn to accept or decline. Apparently, he doesn't look on his invites, or he doesn't care. Recently, there also was a flaw in the game disabling players from declining the invites.

  Anyway and IMHO, you should delete the "pendings" from the bottom of your member list after a while.
