I wondered why my score average did not fall after reaching 500 ranked rounds as a legend.

Now after 600 ranked rounds my  average finally started to drop. The minimum number has been 500 for a long time. But some older posts from 2012 talk about a minimum number of 400 rounds. So it seems that WGT occasionally raises the minimum and we are now at 600 ranked rounds.

Any Par 3 or Par 5 rounds would count as ranked rounds, but not count towards the 500 RR's needed to saturate.

    Danke für die Nachricht!

They added 100 rounds when the TL tier was introduced, so obviously now they prolonged the grind while intruducing "Champion".

There's a pattern in these longer grinds since TLs had to sacrifice their 300 best rounds, lengthening their way to the new tier.

WGT must be pretty safe in their assumptions about players' patience...

Cool...this could turn into a money spinner for a not bad TL, with only 80 rounds under his belt...and all the TOP guys be gone soon...no matter how hard they try to hang back, played too many ranked to backtrack !!

Now if only I played for damn credits !!

    :))

I'm afraid my figures don't concur with what you say Andreas. I have been tracking my scores and average ever since I was a tour pro (sad maybe, but valid here).

I currently have 1,287 RRs as a legend with an average of 60.1160 from my 500 lowest scores, which agrees with my WGT profile.

If I change the calculation to use the 600 lowest, my average increases to 60.5300, which does not match my profile.

I did not play many par 3 or par 5 rounds and my average started dropping with a bit more than 600 rounds. But to be sure some new legend with less than 200 rounds played as legend would have to keep track of his rounds.

Cut and paste your score history into a spreadsheet and then count once your averages start dropping.

The score history unfortunately only shows the latest 200 rounds. And combines both closest to the hole and stroke play rounds.

I imagine if WGT changed the rules they only did it for people who did not yet have 500 ranked rounds as legend. Otherwise every one would be surprised by a new average after the switch.

Or ( if I'm even on board with these #'s thing )....

The TL with less than 500 ranked , might only need req ave &  300 RR to qualify ?

                                                                                                                    ^^ Champ

    My head hurts  :))))

    Andy ( 80 ish  ranked as TL ?....50 %  ? UEL's..and couldn't care less )

    EDIT..

WHY do u in the USA say " like I could care less"..doesn't that then denote you cared somewhat in the first place ?

I don't mind ya'll using my native language..all I ask for is that you use it correctly !!

I will be happy if I never reach tour legend at all. I was just annoyed that I did no seem to get my average below 80 for longer then expected.

I mostly play with cheap balls which are not long enough for the legend tees. And I got promoted early to legend just due to one top 3 result in a tour master stroke tournament while my average was 61.8.

And I will not abandon a round just because I am already 20 or 30 above par. Just now I dropped my average by 0.05 with a 12 above par round. I was just not quite awake enough to successfully play with a speed 0 ball.
