Safdar1:
On a similar note, have you considered the impact of slope/dot analysis on greens when the camera is not in line with the shot?
ie you can analyse the dots from the camera view but if the shot is being taken from a place not in parallel, this can mean the putt can behave quite differently than you may expect.
Your question made me think, and I tried a few shots to test. The info I got may be incorrect but there were some WGT pros that stated that this instance exists - that when the avatar is skewed the dots are misleading.
One day I will find the posts that relate to this subject, I just haven't looked for them recently. If anyone wants to add input, go right ahead.
Below is just what I was guessing.
All numbers in the figures below are just for study and are not concrete. But say the info in the yellow circles is what the game tells you.
In fig A the player is skewed to the right. The info tells you the tilt of the green is left-to-right and uphill a slight bit.
The info says 'up 2 inches, and medium slope L-R'. But maybe from the players angle it's MORE uphill, and also the tilt is lessened from that angle.
In fig. B the player is left and more 'up', therefore, perhaps, the hill is not as steep as compared the other angle (in yellow circle). Also, from that players angle maybe the tilt is a slightly greater.
Compare the info from the cam (in yellow) to the players angle. See what I'm wondering?
Again, I'm not to sure so test it yourself. My last test was like fig. A and I adjusted for a medium break but after I hit the ball it didn't break as much as I thought it would.
