Am considering buying a course notebook to help me keep notes on the the greens here at WGT. So my question is once notes have been placed in the book, can they be edited? Seems to me that i read a post a long while back that said once you placed notes in the book, that you couldn't change them.

Interesting point as I have considered buying one, but as I have never written notes down (and relied on a fading memory lol) so thought maybe it would ne a good investment.

I would be interested in hearing other players views on the pros and cons.

The notebook does not carry over to the Best Of Courses as they are treated as separate courses, Neither does the notebook have a generic section for notes that would apply all the time (e.g, yardage charts).  It is limited to a section for fway and green per hole, and you may only look whilst actually at that course. Some multiplay issues exist controlling when you can edit as well.

Nothing you could not do better with a bit more thought if that interested. Being lazy I v sometimes enter a note in it and v sometimes that's useful.

Thank you for your replies. I might just ditch the whole idea. As it stands now, i use an excel program to keep notes and wind calculations. Keep separate notes for each course. It works.Just thought i might try something different.

As stated above it is broken down into 2 sections fairway and green.  Also if you have notes for a specific hole that is also in one of the Best Of Courses you will have to transfer those notes yourself.  You can view and edit the notebook for any of the courses by clicking on the notebook beside the course.  If you are doing solo play you can view and edit the notebook while playing the round.  If you are playing any multi play game you can only view the notebook and make no changes.

For me personally was  a very good investment.  I use mine specifically for yardages and nothing else.  While most of the pages are empty just a quick 10sec to see if I have yardages for that hole and I'm set.  I used to do it off memory but to many times simply forgot so I got the notebook and took that out of the equation.

I use a pencil and an A4 pad. Never lets me down.

On usage of the notepad, I think I use mine in a similar way to MrQueez.

Most holes i have no notes at all. Just on those holes where my normal calculation seems to not work ,hole plays few yards long or whatever, and one or two where the putting dots don't play as they look & cause a miss,  I will jot a few notes in notepad.

Also I found it handy on new course like for  US open since you don't have much time to learn.

I'd say that if you use spreadsheets / lots of notes then stick to that.
If you just forget that some shots play a little different and want to avoid repeats then notepad is worth it.
