I am at the end of my rope here.  My meter cannot behave at all for more than 9 holes if that.  I routinely clean my cache and settings in flash player, consistently run malware and virus programs, have used Firefox, IE, Opera(graphics do not show on this at all anymore), and Maxthon, with the same results all the time.  Not sure what else I can do.  I have spent 2 1/2 years here and this problem really started when the update that screwed up the putting graphics was utilized.  It has not been the same since then.  Any other suggestions would be helpful.  I would hate to have to quit playing since it is not enjoyable anymore.

    hi

clearing cookies / cache only works if you have an issue and doing so,. solves it. keep doing it sadly, won't work. I haven't cleared my cache/cookies in 6 month, so it's not a panacea.

I would recommend trying older versions of flash and see if that helps you.

And some say a leopard can't change its spots.

To the OP, I use Maxthon and usually have a smooth meter.

You did mention the virus and malware scanners - are they running in the background when playing. I know Norton used to kill my meter (in fact slowed the whole machine down).

Speaking of running, do you keep an eye on your CPU usage? Maxthon has a CPU usage built in...if it increases I wait till it drops. I used to use a standalone CPU Usage program that I could overlay using full screen (downside of maxthons is you lose this in full screen).

As Icon said, it could also be the version of flash and Chrome users have problems with Pepper Flash....I know Scotthope has links to resolve this.

If your version of Chrome is up to date, then the only flash player you will have is pepperflash. The game may or may not be okay for you with pepperflash. Andyson has no problems with it, for me......there is a delay before the meter stops when I click, so I don't play the game with Chrome anymore.

If you managed to stop Chrome from updating before they completely removed all support for NPAPI plugins, then you are probably bright enough to work out any problems with flash players, so I won't add anything more here.  : )

One of the fundamental issues that I have encountered over the years with a stuttering meter is RAM. I went from a laptop to a better laptop and then to a faster desktop computer and this has been a consistent factor.

Rank your background tasks (processes) in terms of "memory" into your task manager and end tasks (esp. near the top) that you don't need. If you are unsure of what tasks you can stop, use a program like Razer Game Booster (which I use) to do it for you. I am using Maxthon on Win 10 OS and am pretty happy with smoothness of meter.

With any browser, I've followed recommendations by others in the forum to use the game client window (http://www.wgt.com/gameclient.aspx) or any other tournament play link etc. as your home page, with no other open tabs to minimize memory used by your browser. In other words, pick a browser and dedicate it to the game.  If you are playing 18 holes, close your browser and re-launch to reset accumulating memory use after 9 holes.

    Good Luck!  -Keith
