    Hi fmagnets;

When I made it to the Champion Tier....yes, I was a Tour Legend & just reached a 59.00 average.

However, since WGT has never published the "criteria" for making "Champion"....I think there is more to it.  I'm pretty sure a TL must have hit 200 ranked rounds as a TL.

But, just last week......I saw a Tour Legend's profile with a 51.60 average with over 3,500 total ranked rounds.  Though, I have no way of knowing if he had hit 200 ranked rounds as a TL yet.

Another member.....Yoban (a Champion) has hit over 23,000 ranked rounds.  His stats are unreal.  I have hit approx. 2,600 ranked rounds.  Wonder why "Yoban" has not been invited by WGT to be a "Tour Champion"?  I think he should be one!

Also...at last count, I found in the WGT Forum, that as of May 2016.....there are a total of 1,200 Champion tier members.

    Jim

Lonnie.......CONGRATS on making it to the CHAMPION tier.

Me too.  But, I was at Level 95 and reached the Champion tier in 18 mos.  I was 59.00 avg. when I reached the Champion tier.

I have not read anywhere on WGT's Forum, where WGT has published the "criteria" for making it to the Champion Tier.......think WGT wants to keep everyone sort of guessing.

I thought my game and stats were descent.....until I saw YOBAN's profile.  He's a Champion at Level 140, I believe....and, he has hit over 23,000 ranked rounds...pretty unreal.

Actually, the 200 extra rounds for seasoned TLs are the only firm official statement I've ever seen here. Ev'rything else is more or less firm guesses (and some errors) on the standard criteria and some indirect confirmation by the mods. As for the extras, that is beating higher tiers and credit winnings for those below Legend, it's a big field of insecurity.

Alosso, I was promoted about a week ago.  My average before was shown as 59.1, I scored 30 and it went to 59 and I was promoted. I had been saturated for a long time.

The reason I'm pointing this out is although there is no real doubt 59 is the number,  I don't believe the actual number is 59.00, 59.04(9) or 59.05 seems more likely.

Assume my average before the 30 was really 59.06, that's 11,812 (59.06 x 200) shots.  To reach 59.00 I would have had to drop 12 shots, that's a 36/72 from my well saturated average.  I don't think that's in the least bit likely.  Anyone having a 72 in a saturated average of 59.1 would need some special scores and my average before, (dropping scores equal to and bigger than the 72) would have been tumbling and not the slow drop I saw.

As I see it the 30(60) must have replaced a 31 (62) or 32 (64), which again assuming an average of 59.06, drops it to 59.05 and 59.04 respectively.  With so long a saturation I'd bet on the 31.

From experience and reports of other tiers, I firmly believe that the threshold is 59.000 or lower. Everything else must be proven by actual numbers.

To start with, I'd rather guess that your average was 59.01 (not 59.1), and this may well have been a 59.005.    59.10 might not have rounded to 59.06, only a 59.095 - far away from the limits.

    If so (59.005), one shot would have dropped it by 1/200 = 0.005 to 59.000 - done with a 30/60 replacing a 61!

Please understand that I won't get into deep discussion about fiction - only facts!

Ok,  though some numbers appear in your lack of deep discussion and what happened to my average and tier is a fact.

The rest was based on an assumption, and that was that an average shown at 59.1 would not represent an actual average of less than 59.05.  This may have been a mistake, but I would have thought an understandable one.

If indeed 59.005 when shown to one decimal place becomes 59.1 with wgt then you're right and everything I wrote was fanciful.  Sorry for wasting your time ;)

    You're welcome!

Did you notice the weak point of your post? The average is represented with two decimals, so 59.05 will not be rounded to 59.10 - both stand on their own.

If your number really was 59.10 then I have no say. Alas, the 59.01 => 59.005 combo seemed more likely as a guess.

Anyway: Congrats to your success - for me, it's a light year away!

It is weird though, I was reading it as 59.1 (not 59.01, and I do know the difference) for days and I was checking as I knew I was close to promotion.  Most likely I was simply mistaken.

Thanks for the congrats, although to be honest it's daft bracketing me with the best.
