letting WGT decide where i receive my drop is like letting the IRS decide where I can donate money.

What about unplayable lies...losing a ball in the jungle and then dropping and losing the rest of the sleeve in the same spot?????????? Give us some relief :)

The most realistic virtual golf game on the www but it certainly doesn't have the most realistic virtual golf rule book.

Love the game, don't get me wrong!

There are some restraints concerning rules, and the main postulate is:

    Thou Hathet No Choice!

It's disappointing sometimes, because there are some really nasty spots and a few irregular forced drops, but at least it's the same for all players - a minor kind of fairness.

The ultimate escape from those nasty lies is "put until you maxed out the hole!"

(Choices like Gimme and Mulligan are quite new)

I know you've seen me suggest this before, alosso, but I'l go ahead and repeat it here. I think it's appropriate.

Under the rules in real life the committee may make the use of a drop zone mandatory. Since WGT insists it's the committee for every single game played on this site (practice, country club, casual, etc.) they should just program a drop zone every 100 or 150 yards on each hole, with the drop zone being in the fairway or the first cut of rough. The game could then "drop" the ball in the drop zone closest behind where the ball was "lost". That would make use of the drop zones mandatory (in keeping with WGT's wishes to not provide choices which could complicate programming and increase load on the game) while eliminating all of these drops that ruin games for players. This suggestion would also eliminate the need for an infinite number of "dropping spots" to be calculated.

Of course I remember, and it's a nice idea.

Alas, I've given up any hope for any change. Changes may come, but until then, the game is as-is.
