    Solarflares:
      A side-product of this cheating is in Alts and the casual-gamer - if you like to join alts at random and play strangers - you are now entering the twilight-zone , in which you might find the TL you are paired-with has a one-putt stat of 32% - something quite evident from their first putt on hole 1.  Yep , a nice WTF moment which generally lasts the whole round as you try and stop yourself typing what you are thinking

    So true... made me chuckle!

    Seems to me that it couldn't be too hard for WGT to exclude from your average, scores made at settings below some difficulty cut-off, which would vary for each tier.

    So for Legends and above -- anything other than the back tees count towards RRs but do not count to average calculation -- same as P3s & P5s.  You can play whatever you like - but the average will only count if the difficulty matches your tier.

    Players would still be able to hammer away at unlimited play with many restarts - but this is still a far more meaningful number than what we have today.;

    Obviously, they wanted to make it easier, so why make it harder again?

    Agreed - they are unlikely to change it back.

    I guess I scratch my head as to why they wanted to make it easier to tier up. The equipment purchases are mostly tied to levels - not tiers. So what benefit cramming all the players into the top tiers?

    My theory is, it became too hard for too many.

    Grinding may be one major clue to business success here, and perhaps the players aren't willing to play their a**es off any more. Further motivation may come from the new top tiers, since many players have mentioned their lack of motivation when being on top.

    The cream on the coffee being the tier which you can't reach on your own - WGT gods are appointed by the merchants.
