The first piece of advice of was going to give you was to ask a few of the members of your CC that were Legends, Tour Legends and / Champions for advice. After all they have been there and probably looking back on it they could offer advice on what not to do as well as what to do. Then I saw the CC you are in has none.
So here is some general advice:
There is no need to buy more than two of any club if you are patient and wait for the right ones to come along.
General advice I give to newbies is:
1) Do not buy any ball more expensive then 65 credits until you have a full set of decent clubs.
2) Save credits and buy nothing until you have enough credits socked away to by the L48 R-1 driver. Buy it as soon as you can. This driver is playable even as a Legend. Later when in the mid Level 80s you can start thinking about a replacement driver.
3) Once the credits are socked away for the R-1 when credits allow buy a 60 and 64 degree wedge Clevelands in high level 20s, ATVs in the 30s or Ping in the early 40s). You want a 50 and a 75 or a 60 and 80 yarders. These will be replaced with higher level wedges in the level 70s or 80s.
4) Replace your iron set with either the Max or the Level 50s Ping G-25s and simultaneously buy a 100 yard wedge to complete your set (now is the time to dump the hybrid). Irons will not be replaced until the L 85 VForged are available.
5) Stay with the starter putter until the Daytona Rossa is available upgrade that no sooner than the Level 70 Versa.
6) Finally replace the 3 wood with a 230 or 235 yard model. Replace that later when the 240 or 245 models are available and you are in the Legend Tier.
When you have gotten to past step 4 you can start thinking of using better balls, but remember you still are saving for those higher level clubs so be cautious.
Following a simple strategy like this you can make and be able to play at the Legend / Tour Legend tier and have gotten there by spending no more than 25,000 credits on all of your clubs.
