    We have a new member who tells us skype download is free. He says however that using skype costs him 28 cents a minute. Are we missing something? Can anyone help us? Thanks in advance.

    I can only say... Skype is free, but is part of ya Internet connection that costs you money

    Ya, but I know you can buy Skype credits, used for calling phones, not another computer.

    PC to PC should always be free (apart from the internet requirement that is negligible).

    Skype may provide connection to wireless nodes at your cost, but I only know
    of 0.14 € per minute in Europe.

    Basic functions like text, voice and video chat are for free AFAIK.

    Typing is free...so are smoke signals...I use them both liberally. I can barely hit what I'm aiming at now.. skype would just distract me and make it even more difficult.

    I use skype everyday to make calls/share screens etc and have never paid Skype for it.

    He may be clicking the call mobile button and not the green "call" button which is free.
