As u can see the 3rd name is not recognised,, if I put in another letter like 'n' then it says no matches found.

Does this mean there is a maximum limit of 2 friends u cand send a message to - surely not.

I must be doing something wrong.

The earliest example I can find of someone reporting this issue is from 2010.

However, I'm pretty sure it's been broken since day one.

I think that it's dependent on where the person is on your friends list.

It is.  It's either only the first 20 or 30 on your list who can be added, I think it's 20.

If you want to send to 7 people and only 6 are in the first 20 you can use the 7th person as the original recipient and add the others.  It's sort of a work around, albeit it a useless one if 2 of them are outside the first 20.

Is there any chance this will be sorted WGT?  I sometimes want to message the owner and other directors in our club but can't as 2 of them are too new on my friends list.  Surely it can't be that difficult to make it available with all friends.

    Can it?

Depends on how many is on your Friends list.  The Admin member in our club only has 33 friends on his list and can send the Multi person messages to anybody.

I agree that Wgt should fix this problem.  It's great for Multi player comps where you can send a multi person message to people for each match, telling em which course, conditions etc. This way they can communicate with each other setting up times and also lets the person running the comp know they are communicating with each other, just in case there is a dispute.

We also have a 4 person Admin Thread going, so the Directors can write stuff on there so the others can see and reply.

    in a nutshell Rog,

thanks for the replies everyone, and the link

I have 3 directors in my club and I want to message them colllectively outside of the forum, but it seems I have to do some complicated 'copy and paste shite '

    It just ain't good enough.

On top of that WGT tell me there is no fix for the owners tools problem I have, they are basically saying lump it.

    WTF

If I see another pop-up about CC improvements I am sure my left fist will go straight through the monitor.

Yep, that's what we have,  it's great.  I take it that the other directors are unable to start one up too.

As somebody said before, It's been a problem since day dot.   Maybe Wgt at the time didn't think we will have hundreds of friends.

    Confirmed.

It's a painful workaround for some, but you can unfriend everyone then make sure your directors are in your first 20 friends.

Would be nice if they could fix this seeing as how it's just a number in a query. Player data gets queried and cached constantly every time someone looks at someone's profile.

Considering how infrequently "multi-messaging" would likely be used relative to the number of uncached daily views of player profile pages, it's hard to make a compelling case for a maximum of only 20 "slots", as it were.
