  I have been playing here bout 9 mns. now. The more I play the worse I get according to my score. It has nothing to do with scoring though. The problem I see, is the game is so inconsistant that no 2 shots are alike. I have played all morning here in CC tournaments and haven't even finished even. I mean really suckn. I can play alone and at least finish even. I'm sure I may have a lot to do with it, but dang not that much. I feel cheated as heck. If anyone has any suggestion please reply

  Do not feel despondent, this game is difficult to learn and the higher you tier up, the more challenges you will come across.

  Obviously better clubs will help, G25;s are a great set but it depends whether you want to invest in better sticks to improve,

  Other than that, learn all the types of shots - some work better than others, especially around the green (a 3 good wedges will vastly improve your short game). Punch is a great shot too....not only from the rough but from the fairways - like additional clubs in your bag and reduces the need to "manufacture" shots (reducing power too much). learn the affect of using different spin and take notes on distances etc.

  But practice and writing notes is the key - be like a sponge and play with better players....and ask questions.

  Read and search the forums for info - great tips in here from top players.

  Like real golf, no two shots are ever the same, but have fun in learning what works best with your clubs and shots.

  The advice provided by alanti is solid. I would add not to put too much pressure on yourself. I play alternate and match games because I enjoy the social aspect more than the actual game. But as I play, especially in groups, advice is passed back and forth and I have been improving. My average does not reflect this, as only stroke games impact avg...but I am getting better and I still enjoy the friendships, so all good.

  1. Join a CC or make friends who routinely play;

  2. Try to play those better than yourself;

  3. Upgrade your clubs and balls as best you can afford; and most importantly

  4. Practice

  wgt fix the game and stop showing favoritism to money spenders.

  I vote for cheaper tin foil hats.

  Got to love red tee champs/tour legends and legends....like a fish out of water from default tees but blame the game.
