  Were the games in brackets.....specifically speed brackets? Basically in these you get half an hour to play the round, failure to do so will DQ you.

  If in an ordinary tournament they have a expiration time, if you do not complete the round in that time you will be disqualified.

  Sadly there is no way you can longthen them.

  Some of my CC colleagues have also had time problems playing tournaments - not realizing the exact time remaining to complete the round.  In brackets the time remaining is shown - in CC tournaments there is an exact time of closure for each event. In WGT tournaments however there is often some variation as to the exact time one event closes and the next is started.

  We have commented in the past that it would be great if instead of an instant close -- there was a 1 hr count-down to close, so that anyone thinking of teeing off when there is only 10 mins remaining is warned.

  But I am also surprised Alanti did not point out that every time you "quit good", it will result in DQ and the timing becomes moot.

  I told you I was being nice :)....shocked?

  And yes, the requests to have a countdown clock for CC tourneys........wait...I am being nice! Maybe one day?

  Also thinking maybe it was in a clash - I have played 2 rounds in a clash, very first one and started one other, said I had 30 minutes so a ton of time to play...then got booted after 5 minutes saying the clash had finished - assumed it was a bug....and did not bother me.

  Never play a clash is my recommendation!

  Me thinks it should read "doing quite good". I get "how come no longthen", but I don't get any sense from "normal" (and I sadly miss punctuation).

  Three kinds of tourney time limits to obey:

  - 12 pm P(D)T for public tournaments like the Weeklies,

  - the clock on Brackets, where speed Brackets pass quite quickly,

  - individual time limits for CC tourneys, displayed in the CC's local time.

  Countdown displays are visible in the game client right before you enter the tournament.

   

  And for the sake of completeness, the CDP clock corresponding to UTC / GMT, shown as a countdown in the game client's main page.

  Yes - I read it that way too. But it was more fun to take it as typed. Sometimes a missing letter makes the world of difference....

  I once had an "email incident" at work where a female manager visited a warehouse to audit processes. She suggested that they implement "count back" to improve stock accuracy ( a process where every time an item is issued, the remaining item count is entered into the system as a check balance ). While this improves accuracy - it can dramatically add to labour costs, and if an operation is already very accurate - this can be more cost than benefit.

  When asked by email what he thought of her suggestion - the site manager responded with

  " I never want that count back on my site while I'm the manager here! "

  unfortunately the keyboard had a sticky "o" key and that letter was missed out!  Seeing as the entire senior leadership team were copied on the email - this almost caused an instant dismissal.

  I'm sorry - sometimes I miss the English pun, but more important, I once was officially reprimanded NOT to write spelling puns on Americans - maybe these are more aggravating from a German?

   

  However, that "count" thing is hilarious!
