ok everybody, this is a global game now and my questions is... Why does Wgt always has a System Maintenace period at 11pm pst.... eff me... in Australia, that time is 6pm (dst)...peak hour for us. Now when WGT has it's normal outage for 4 hrs then that's our whole nite gone....lol. The next question is... Does the clock on the Comps/Social Club Tournys stop or do we lose a few hours.

    cheers

The office is located on the west coast and it is 11pm that time. We try to make them as painless as possible and with the majority players being from the USA/Canada, that seems to be the best slot.

Of course we realize that we can never find the perfect slot when no one is playing, but sometimes we have to pick and chose.

    Sorry :)

Thanks for the reply Icon... No Probs, I just felt the urge to complain about something on this great game...lol.

Does the clock stop on the Comps when there is a System Downtime?

If it can be done logistically, might be fair to move the times of scheduled maintenance each time so that it's not always the same people affected.  How often do you have scheduled maintenance?

I hear ya but this is 1 of those things that we schedule when it's convenient for us. I am sorry if that sounds arrogant but I felt the honest answer is the right answer. We have to deal with many things when we do update, including testing before/during/after, so we need to make sure our end is in line with proper personnel.

Ideally, i'd rather not stay up until 6am (I am 3 hours ahead of them, so it starts at 2am here)  to test things as well, but you do what you gotta do

Thanks.  That's why I asked "if it could be done logistically"; wasn't sure whether personnel were on site during the process.  11pm PST sounds like a strange time then, except that, like you said earlier, most of the US (and UK) is not affected.
