    iaintiger:

    Hi all,

I have been playing the game for about 3 weeks now and have seen some of the top players saying the game is too easy with their ability to purchase huge drivers & top of the range golf balls. However I am still finding the game a challenge and am concerned the game will become too hard for players like myself & new players who may be put off if the game is too difficult with unreachable fairways or crazily fast greens . My suggestion is to remove distance to hole and/or lie information for better players i.e. tour pro & above. These players should have had enough practice by now to know the courses well enough to estimate the distance to the flag or the state of the lie. This would make it a bit more of a challenge to the better players without putting off the novice players who need the help to get into the game.

Let me know what you think all

I do not think this game ever get "too easy". There is a general perception though that players that reach a high level but stay at a low tier (for instance a Tour Pro at level 65) have a too big advantage over the Legends and Masters since they have much shorter holes and usually the same equipment. This is why there is many complaints about sand bagging. A Legend might play from 500 yards and his opponent have maybe 370. With the same clubs, the Legend will need one shot extra to reach the green. This will not be a problem if the player plays like a Tour Pro, but he might have the skill of a Legend but has avoided to advance in tier by not playing ranked rounds.

The simple solution is to make equipment available based on tier instead of level and I can not understand why WGT does not go this route since it would in one go make sand bagging pretty pointless.

The suggestion of removing yardage would, as has been mentioned, be a cool idea for tournaments, but, as have also been mentioned, in the games current shape there is not enough information to make a decent assumption about distance and altitude. Lie information must definitely be there since the graphic sometimes indicates you are on the green but in reality you aren in 30-40% rough.
