    Hi all,

I have been playing the game for about 3 weeks now and have seen some of the top players saying the game is too easy with their ability to purchase huge drivers & top of the range golf balls. However I am still finding the game a challenge and am concerned the game will become too hard for players like myself & new players who may be put off if the game is too difficult with unreachable fairways or crazily fast greens . My suggestion is to remove distance to hole and/or lie information for better players i.e. tour pro & above. These players should have had enough practice by now to know the courses well enough to estimate the distance to the flag or the state of the lie. This would make it a bit more of a challenge to the better players without putting off the novice players who need the help to get into the game.

Let me know what you think all

I could agree...IF...there were some defined markers n the course and some way to measure them...i/e IRL...if you land inbteween the Blue and White markers, you step off the distance to get a feel for whether you are 170 or 180 away from the center of the green, also many courses have addition markers on sprinkler heads as well...but here you only come across the markers every once in while (red/white/blue) and there's no way of knowing if you are 150 or 180 yards out...as the views look the same.

On a real golf course, we have the help of distance markers so we basically know how far to hit the ball and we can see the hole in reality.  On a game like this, if we don't have anything telling us how far to the pin, not forgetting how high or low the flag is, then it would be like playing golf blind and way too hard...... Although, not a bad idea for a new Comp for WGT to think about.... not have the distance shown..that would be cool....Actually the more I think about it, it would have to be only in a Tournament, this idea of yours could really work.

The game is a real challenge when you first start playing, unless you have started again from scratch (but that's another story)... so keep playing, the more games you play the better you will get.

    Good Luck

i thought they were complaining because it allows lower ranked players to score better really.

I see your point & the flaws in my idea.

My thinking was that if you know the length of the hole at the start, then if you knew that for example a driver with no wind would drive for 250 yds then you would know that a driver into a 10 mph wind would lose 10 yds then you would know how far left to the green.

but hey I've been playing 3 weeks & am quite happy to admit I may know nothing.

depth perception in two dimensions must be something new
