Looking for something different?
Well, I'm sorry, but it's very difficult to be different when trying to launch a Country Club.
I can't offer anything too much different from what's already out there.
Sooo many CC's....soooo many choices.
I personally have been in quite a few, and it's reasonable to say the main selling points for recruitment are "cameraderie" and "have fun"
How many CC's live up to their message?
From my own experience, not a lot. Some do, for sure, but in most cases, once you fall for the lure, you find yourself embedded in a group full of mostly strangers who do nothing to boost the so called cameraderie.
Sure, some of the CC's have excellent tournaments, and prizes, and incentives for partaking, but to me, the most important thing of all is the Country Club forum.
A place where everyone can, and should feel at ease to introduce themselves to the rest, and say a little something about themselves. A place for real communication amongst who were strangers....getting to know each other.
What follows from that is friendship...real friendship that causes you to look for these people when you log on for the first time that day, and enjoy a MP, Alt Shot, or even skins game.
So many CC's boast cameraderie, but how many actually have it?
As I go to the home pages of many of the "Top" CCs, I see a distinct lack of posting from members in their forum activity.
Plenty of activity...such as so & so won that, or so & so made the next tier....but hardly any communication.
I also know that many CCs have their own websites, or chatrooms, where they probably communicate, but this is WGT....if you can't post in your own CC forum coz nobody will see it, or reply to it, then what's the sense of having any CCs at all?
We may as well just advertise all our websites or chatrooms, and change the name of this thread to Website Corner.
The only thing that I can offer different is my vision. I came here to play virtual golf. If I wanted to join a chatroom, there are thousands to choose from....same with websites.
Now I'm not saying all...coz I obviously haven't been to, or seen all, but my experience is that some of the CCs here go to extraordinary lengths to provide wonderful websites, only to see all their efforts wasted coz of lack of interest.
There's a reason for that lack of interest, and i believe it's for the very reason I set out above. People come here to relax, and play the greatest virtual golf game available today. NOT to be bombarded with a whole host of sometimes complicating conditions such as "visit our website and fill out the form if you want to join" or "You must register in our website to become a full member" or other such foolish nonsense which will eventually have the opposite effect of recruiting, and scare prospective members away!
So...come to Fallen Angels
No website, no chatroom, no fuss and no bother :-)
Time to REALLY enjoy your virtual golf.
