  been trying to apply to CC's but can"t seem to find the connection.

  I see that you succeeded ;)

  In general, it's good practice to first have a look if the CC and the owner are active at all. Only an active owner can accept your application.

  Then you might want to contact the owner or a director of the CC and ask for their invitation.
