    Thanks for your input Mainzman, much appreciated.

    This type of action is what i meant but it seems most people thought i wanted to rummage around looking for balls.  Obviously others thought it was all about dollars. bubbacrusher007 has really put it in better perspective. Thanks bubba.

     I agree, losing a stroke or two (depending on hazard) should be enough. Then a drop.

    I honestly don't mind loosing my ball and the money I payed for it.  I spend $2.5 a sleeve.  So my lost ball costs 84 cents for a ball with no hits on it.  Less as more hits are on it.

    I always said they should have a "ball retriever" you could purchase in the Pro Shop and place in your bag.  I'd just go to the Swilcan Burn at St. Andrews #1 and pull out some of the many millions of virtual balls that we've all hit in there. 

    FYI...someone is pulling them out.  If not, you'd be hard pressed to even see the pin due to the Mount Everest size mountain of balls that go in there daily...maybe even hourly.
