Well bully for you. Can we assume you have tried and tested it on say 50 rounds of golf and it's running completely stable?

You say "my programs". Which particular programs would they be and for the lesser anointed peasants among us do you think you could construct a blow by blow instructional so that we all could partake in such glory. Thanks ever so much.

"a blow by blow instructional, for the lesser anointed peasants" !

Click the menu button New Fx Menu and choose Options.

    Click the Advanced panel.

Click the Update tab. The update options are displayed

Uncheck the box next to Use a background service to install updates.

    Close the Options window.

[ When Firefox or Thunderbird downloads an application update, the Mozilla Maintenance Service gets permission from Windows to allow the update to be applied, without requiring you to click Yes in the Windows User Account Control].

    Simple enough for you ?

Thanks very much for that Weejohn. Simple enough for this simpleton and mission achieved. Ran with it for the rest of yesterday and so far all is looking fine. I haven't played any mp games yet as I would think they'd be the ultimate test but as Bryan Adams sang eons ago: So Far So good. Thanks again.

Gary if you like playing with Firefox which is made by Mozilla you might want to try Sea Monkey which is also powered by Mozilla. It is very stable and doesn't seem to have the trouble that Firefox has.
