On your friends list. How do you go about deleting old friend's you haven't seen or heard of in years? Non of my newer friends even appear on my friends list.
Go to there profile page, and click the remove friend tab.

Friends list and related functions only work for the first 255 friends - your 600+ is too much for the system.
