borntobesting:
The avatars on WGT are flash based and the more detail and customizing that is done to them the more stress that is going to be to the meter. Is having a great looking customized avatar worth a jittery meter?? IMO no!
If you have some source of this info I'd be open to research it. There are all types of different avatars existing and from what I can see it wouldn't be 'more detail' just different and the detail is chosen by a user at the time of creation.
A crude example here is presuming that common avatars are made up of blocks e.g. A+B+B+G, or B+A+A+H and so on. All letters are equal in flash load, perhaps for argument sake.
A custom avatar is F+F+A+C as chosen by the player. Same total flash load. Just different orders.
If the custom avatar adds sunglasses, etc. or extra features that are significantly additional to create this supposed 'stress' on the game, which I am doubtful of but open to be proven true, then I totally agree with your concern.
The jittery meter is one of the top drawbacks of WGT, even as listed on wiki, but the image for these custom avatars doesn't look like any superfluous details are present, at least from a flash load programming standpoint. (as maybe a golf bag might impose)
Plus, if the custom ava has a slightly bigger 'flash stress load' it would only be at the start of the game, I'd understand, and after a slight pause, and while monitoring your CPU, one could wait a moment and the load would be finalized at the start. Then begin swinging.
But I agree with you, that is 'if'....
