"Credits" can be sent in the form of commercial gift cards like Subway and others and then used here. Some are even available internationally.

Two caveats:
- The receiver must fulfil the level and tier requirements for the gifted item,
- many tiered items in the Pro Shop have no gift button - they are excluded from gifting.
IIRC, the latter is true from TP tier limitation up. Thus, Legend balls cannot be gifted.
(Don't ask me why there are Legend balls, and why this exclusion is in place)
