Where is the need to even play at all?

Everyone is different, and play this game different ways.

There is no need for anything, and yet here we are playing a make believe golf game.

Take from the game what YOU need to enjoy it, then and only then will you find true happiness and be at one with the ding.

I found happiness when I ditched the ding & got a dong Instead & It only took one quick phone call to the main man In WGT, I'm sure the bill I got for the call can't be right, The dong must be Included In the price! ?

I got caught up in the clubs level thing. Without really thinking about it.

    Since then I've actually downgraded my irons from Lv90+ to Lv85+.From a 225 iron to a 220.

Why would I give up 5yds? Here's my thinking on it. First, the new Steelheads have a slower meter that my old self needs. But beyond that, being Legends we don't run across low wind conditions very often.

If I get a tail wind I don't need to worry about that 5yds. If I get a head wind I'm going to my 3W anyway. Especially on St. Andy's or RSG with high wind conditions. On those courses I usually end up dropping a club in those tail winds and you sure need a 3W with those heads winds.

That 225 iron didn't get a lot of play time. Sure, there have been a few times when that 225 would have been ok but not many. Range your irons. You might be surprised at what you can do with what you have.

Just one thing I don't get tho. You're a Lv92 Legend using Lv80 irons and talking about Lv97 Callaways. Have you tried the Lv85 Steelheads?

I'm guessing you went from using the TH Rsi2 irons to the Steelheads?  That might make sense, as your meter went from 3.0 to 4.2  Doing that with the Nike's would be going from a 4.0 to a 4.2 meter speed.

I agree that the extra 5 yards won't make much difference distance wise.  That can be made up using an enhanced distance ball if it was that important.  Any Cally would give that much more yardage. The OP shows using the starter ball in their bag right now, FWIW.

I leveled up fo lvl 97 and tried the lvl 97 Steelheads on a 2 hour free rental last week and found they played identical to the  lvl 92 Nikes except that the meter was a little bit slower.  Probably not enough to justify purchasing the new ones, at least for me.

For the OP, It's a grind to lvl 97 from lvl 92, about 900K.  Almost 1.5 times what you have earned so far in total.  Earning 2K XP per day its 450 days.  @ 2.5K it 360 days.  Bump it up to 3.K its 300 days.  4.K and its still 225 days.

CDP a becomes very important part of the mix.  So are the tournament play bonus points of 400 for 18 holes and 190 for 9 holes, and the XP's for any type of MP.

However under the old system it was about 1022.73 days to get the same 900K points.  Keep it in perspective.  Enjoy the game and you will get there.

    Good Luck,

Yes I did, and it's helped already. The only club I can see myself buying in the future is a driver. Then that 5yds. will really disappear.

I have both top level Nike Irons Sets and I find the distance seems to play about the same.
