  I was wondering when I move the dot on the ball all the way down or somewhat down...is that lofting the ball as well as putting backspin on the ball?  I know on TW on the xbox if you loft the club it will put spin on the ball as well as take some distance off the club and put more height on the ball as well.

  In other words, is this only for spin?  Does it change the distance at all?

  That is correct.

  Depending on the ball you use & club you use will change the flight of the ball & spin you get.
