I want to be able to spin the ball and stop it on the green. I know the "good" balls can do that when you move the "dot" lower on the ball...My question is, most of the good balls also give you more distance. How much more distance?  That will definitely screw up my "math" when figuring out which club to hit.

Are there any balls i can use that will just give me spin and no extra distance?

    Any suggestions?

    thanks,

    Rich

There are, having said that the extra distance on the others is only a few yards and is only really noticeable on drives and long shots. If the ball description has no dots for distance then the distance is not affected.

I wouldn't worry to much about it. Just pick a ball and practice with it. You're in for alot of change anyway moving up the tiers. Different winds, tees, green speeds etc...
