Play Ranked Stroke play ... it is what effects the stats. Blitz and CTTH do not.

You have to play ranked rounds on the full courses to have your stats change and your avegage change..  You have been playing the CTTH courses.  Also the Par 3 and Par 5 courses don't count towards average.

If you click on the PLAY NOW button, it opens the game client.  On the left you will see where it says "Stroke Play".  Click that and the "Main Menu > Stroke Play Game" will open.  It should default to "Ranked" to type of game on the right side.

Pick a course by scrolling through them. I would suggest St. Andrews or perhaps Kiawah for your first time out.  Click that and it will set up and show the settings for a Ranked Round for your Tier.  Click the "Tee Off" button on the lower right and enjoy playing the Front 9 at the course you select.

You can change the type of game, but be aware that "practice" rounds don't count for average or stats.  The practice rounds will allow you use a putting preview guide, which does help learn to putt and read the greens.  It also has a "Mulligan" feature which allows you to hit another shot, but if you are buying balls instead of using the WGT starter ball it charges 2 hits instead of 1 for each time you do that.  As a newbee you should not be buying balls yet.

    Good Luck and have fun.

In a nutshell, your average and stats come from stroke rounds that show up in your score history, not counting Par 3s and 5s. They show up when you finish a round as long as it's ranked, like Phred pointed out.

Jim, I could well be wrong, but I think ranked rounds on Par 3s and Par 5s, while they  don't count for average, do contribute to your stats. I noticed once, after a particularly good day on the Best of 5s, that my stroke average on Par 5s had dropped.

You may be right on that. I know when the Par 3 first came out the Lowest Round stat got skewed by it. Not sure if that was ever changed.

Come to think of it, eagles on the Best of 5s have counted...and my first hole in one came at Bandon, and that counted too. And truth be told, there's no reason those stats shouldn't count.

They do count.  My first H.I.O. also came on Bandon.  The Par3/Par 5 scores do not count for average.
