    Hi

I would get the best wedges you can get at your level. Idea is to have minimum yardage gaps between wedges. Clevelands are great but they have higher learning curve due to backspin.

I do not understand all the degrees, what should be used as a sand wedge, pitching wedge and lob wedge?

It sounds like you might not be a golfer, elsasser. This is fine, you can learn the game here and have a blast.

The degree numbers indicate how much of an angle is in the club face. The higher the number, the flatter the face of the club. This means the higher the number goes the shorter the flight of the ball is but it goes higher up in the air.

You can carry whatever you want, the name doesn't make a difference. Typical players will carry  56, 60 and 64 degree clubs.

50 yard, 77 yard and 98 yard are a good spread.

Hmmm, good point. I currently have 50, 77 and 93. Then my 115 pitching wedge. A 98 yard wedge would give slightly more even gaps.

To the OP I use the Taylor Made level 38+39, they're very good. I don't see what you get for the extra money with the TP wedges at level 64, the stats are the same, just the distances are up.

The 2 oil can finish Satins (90 and 110) are not the same as the others. The dots are the same but they outperform the others significantly.
