I'm just curious how I should feel about this. I am a member of a country club and have been for a while. At least 3 times since I joined I have gotten invites to join other clubs. I know I can only be a member of one at a time, but my question is this considered normal for country club owners to try to recruit members of another country club into their club? I don't want to be inconsiderate so any thoughts would be nice.

    Thanks!!

I've had that happen once or twice; I'm kind of flattered that I'm being considered.

That said : Don't be upset ,just politely and respectfully decline.

    Just my 2 cents.

Some use it persistantly as an offensive strategy, some are offended, naming it poaching.

    Great Reply Paul,

Our CC has written on players walls before, we try to research clubs where owners are inactive, as many have said if a member is happy in their club then they wouldn't leave.

I do not consider it poaching there are a lot of players out there not reaching their full potential and some that just don't realise what they are missing, clubs where the owner and directors do not communicate with their members, clubs that post no info or  help pages and some that don't even post club tourney's.

There is also the issue where a player may not suit a cubs set up, unless you can freely advertise how your club operates a lot of players are going to be left unhappy and not enjoy all the game has to offer.

I myself received one invite from another cc, only ONE :( although I was flattered was also slightly disappointed received no friend request, game invite, e-mail or wall post, they weren't really trying LOL

    Happy recruiting

Actually getting your wall bombarded with unsolicited CC invites, or Ads as you put it, is VERY annoying and should not be allowed!

So are friend requests followed up with CC invites....

I never read them, respond to them, and "block" them immediately....
